Utility is all about making your look fashionable and functional. This trend is one of those trends that always make a come back, and it’s safe to say that, some of these pieces can easily become a yearly staple for your spring/summer wardrobe. Designers such as Stella McCartney and JW Anderson are coming out with modern day utility style pieces, which of course the high street have also responded to.
I love the neutral-earth tones, and I have enjoyed wearing it more ‘dressed up’ this season. So rather than wearing flat shoes or boots, I’ve been opting to wear utility pieces with more heels. In addition to this, I’ve been experimenting with more cooler tones, such as creams and stone.
Utility Styling & Malone Souliers
It was the hottest day of the year so far, and what better day to wear my new favourite top. ASOS WHITE is ASOS’ more premium own brand range, which is minimalistic with interesting cuts such as the one I wore in this post. This top is everything, and perfect for the holidays I have coming up.
I made this utility look more chic by styling these khaki trousers from Mango, with this wrap top. Of course I had to pull out these new shoes. This look is one of those casual looks that you could wear to a nice rooftop bar, and look slightly over dressed – but just right for the occasion. I always think it’s better to over dress than under dress. It’s the worst feeling when you wish you could go home and change!
Lets discuss these mules… they are simply the best! The most comfy pair of heels I currently own, and they are simple mules but statement at the same time, with the detailing and metallic finish. Malone Souliers is a brand I originally came across on Net-A-Porter, and fell in love with all their designs. The Donna metallic leather mules are hand made (as all their shoes are), and feature piping that gives the illusion of pleats. If you have wide feet, I suggest you go a size and a half up, as they run really small. Currently loving playing with accessories to elevate or transform an outfit. So stay tuned to see more.
