Travel essentials are super important when your catching flights, and staying in hotels for short periods of time. This year I’ve been on more trips than usual, hence the disruption in my usual blog schedule. This is because I’ve had the amazing opportunity to work with international clients, as well as holiday’s!
These trips are usually short and busy, with a tight schedule, and on short haul flights which means you literally have to pack what you need. You need a good cabin bag and work appropriate clothing. You need sufficient items that are appropriate for the weather, and the other activities that may happen during your short stay. In addition, beauty products are important to maintain your skin as it can get dehydrated on fights, but you beed to pack wisely, as it all can’t make it through security.
Kipling is a bit of a nostalgic brand for me. My mum bought me a bag from this brand when I was in secondary school. It was my travel bag for my school trip to Paris. I remember at the time not being a huge fan of it, but quickly realised how useful and durable it was on my trip. All the girls seemed pretty envious of it too. So I was excited to receive this cabin bag to use for my up and coming work trips.
Travel Essentials for Work
This post is collaboration with Kipling
The Super Hybris S cabin sized wheeled bag is the perfect for those work trips. The wheels make it smooth and easy to manoeuvre. The suitcase features a soft fabric front with a solid back which is durable. It has one compartment with a zip, and two pockets to keep items secure and in place.
Working in digital marketing, the dress code is typically smart casual. Therefore, this is outfit is a typical of what I would wear to work, and to client meetings. Depending on how important the meeting is, and who I’m actually meeting – I may power dress a bit more with heels or a blazer. In addition, I styled the belt featured, in my last post all about power dressing ‘The Gucci Belt X Power Accessories with Farfetch’. The top is light and airy, but covers enough so it’s good for transitional temperatures you may experience when travelling. The jeans from ASOS and never fail me, and I always pack with every trip.
What to Pack?
- Skin care products – Are key travel essentials, important to always make sure that you maintain your skincare regime when travelling. My skin becomes very dehydrated on planes, so I always make sure my skin is always hydrated. In addition, SPF is needed if you’re going to a hot destination. I always use a day cream with a high SPF.
- Leather Jacket – No matter the climate of the place you’re going to, having a leather jacket is the ultimate travel essential. Airports and planes can be cold with air con, and some destinations may become cold during the night. A leather jacket is the perfect weight and warmth for when you’re not sure.
- Carefully selected clothing – So for me on a work trip if’ it’s hot: A blouse, black jeans and a dress if there is an evening meal. Also two pairs of shoes max. This should be some comfy shoes for all the walking and traveling, and sassy shoes for your meeting and dinner!
- Technology – As a blogger who works full time this is essential. So I’ll pack my laptop, memory cards and camera. Fully equipped with international chargers and adaptors.
